Altnagelvin Area Hospital, Londonderry
Altnagelvin Hospitals HSS Trust provides the widest range of acute secondary care services in Northern Ireland outside the greater Belfast area. Altnagelvin Area Hospital Londonderry is based on the east bank of the River Foyle in Londonderry, also known as Derry, an historic city dominating the North-Western landscape of Ireland. It serves a population of around 200,000 for general hospital services, and around 400,000 for specialist services such as trauma, orthopaedics and ophthalmology. Altnagelvin is one of the province’s five designated cancer units. The trust has 494 inpatient beds and 54 day case beds.
