As the base for many of West Glasgow's ambulatory care facilities, Gartnavel has a four-theatre day surgery unit, endoscopy suite, imaging department (including CT and interventional radiology) and main concentration of out-patient accommodation.
Situated on Castle Street, Glasgow Royal provides a broad range of regional, supra-regional and national acute clinical services. The Accident and Emergency department incorporates major treatment rooms for patients with major injuries, a separate minor injuries unit, a resuscitation unit with six bays, and two X-ray facilities along with other services.
The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides comprehensive acute care for the population of Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and the South Waveney area, and for visitors to the area. This acute care is supported by care in community hospitals for those living in and around the district. It serves a population of approximately 230,000.
Leicester Royal Infirmary is close to Leicester city centre and has more than 1000 beds. It is one of three hospitals that make up University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, which also includes Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital. The Trust, known as Leicester Hospitals, is rated excellent for the quality of services by the Healthcare Commission, putting them top of the league for large acute teaching trusts in the country.
